Celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month
Summer is here and soon the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) will be overflowing with homeless cats and kittens. Typically, about 1,000 cats are turned over to the HSSA during the month of June alone. In an effort to help more of these displaced kitties find loving homes, the HSSA joins animal welfare groups across the nation in declaring June, Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month!
To give these wonderful, deserving shelter cats a better chance at a new and happy life, the HSSA is making it easier for cat lovers to add a new feline friend (or two) to their homes during the entire month. Cats 5 months andolder can be adopted for just $25, or double the love with 2-for-1 kitten adoptions of $100. This low adoption fee includes an identification microchip; sterilization surgery; feline leukemia testing; initial distemper, upper respiratory and tabies vaccinations; a cat carrier, a free wellness exam from Valley Animal Hospital' and a cat care kit, including a bag of food. That's a great bargain for a new best friend!
Summer months at the HSSA mean that a large variety of wonderful cats and kittens are available for adoption each day. If you have an empty lap and a kind heart to share, now is a great time to visit the Humane Society of Southern Arizona at 3450 N. Kelvin Boulevard.
