Alan Schrope, MBA
Alan Schrope started as our Hospital Administrator in May 2004. He received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University, and was awarded his master's degree in business administration in June 2006. Prior to coming to Tucson, he worked for over eight years as the Facilities Manager for the Purdue Veterinary Teaching Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. While at Purdue, he gained a certificate in veterinary practice management from the Veterinary Management Institute. In 2010, Alan passed the rigorous standards test to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). Alan has nearly ten years of high school and college basketball coaching experience. He and his wife, Lisa, have 3 cats. Alan enjoys reading, running and playing basketball in his free time.
Practice Manger
Deb Amiga
Deb began in April 2011 as our Practice Manager. Originally from Washington State, she has worked over 18 years in the veterinary industry, starting her veterinary career as an assistant. Her love of the animal field started at the San Francisco Zoo where she worked as an Education Intern and later as an Assistant Curator of the Insect Zoo. Deb majored in Psychology at San Francisco State University, which she loves to combine with her knowledge of animals to foster the human-animal bond. She has worked as a Practice Manager for the last 13 years in San Francisco, Seattle and Phoenix; moving to Tucson to join the Valley Animal Hospital family. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, swimming, yoga and spending time with her husband and her furry and feathered family - her dog, "Boo"; three cats - "Daisy", "Curley", "Misha" and Amazon Parrot, "Rocky".

Day Veterinary Technicians and Assistant
Becky B., C.V.T.

Becky started working at Valley Animal Hospital in 1989 as a full time emergency veterinary assistant. She became a certified veterinary technician in 1991. She worked with Dr. Thomas Miller for a number of years and developed a special interest in avian medicine. Becky currently enjoys working with Dr. Blake Herrington. Becky spends her free time running, cycling, spending time with friends and family, and of course, her feathered and furred friends.
Heidi T., Veterinary Assistant
Heidi started at Valley Animal Hospital in October of 1997 as a kennel assistant. Shortly after, she was an assistant for Doctors Herrington, Edsall and Stofft. Since December 2005, she has been in charge of hospital supplies and equipment. She is now back to doing what she loves, being a veterinary assistant and handling all safety and OSHA requirements for the hospital. Heidi is a native of Tucson and as a child, all of her pets came to the original Valley Animal Hospital, which is now Valley Pet Resort. She has been married for 24 years and raised 2 children; she has had numerous pets over the years (rabbits, chickens, cats and birds) and now has 2 dogs.
Mary P., BA
Mary joined Valley Animal Hospital in June 2003 as an Emergency Veterinary Assistant. She graduated from the University of Arizona in 2006 with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science. In March 2008, she became a member of our day staff. Mary has always had a love for animals and feels blessed that she can work with and care for the wide variety of animals that visit our hospital. She enjoys learning new things and has a special interest in surgical procedures; including everything from routine spays and neuters to critical exploratory surgeries. Mary is currently studying to become a certified veterinary technician. She enjoys running, hiking, spending time with her husband, Corey, friends, family and her dog, Vixen.
Stacy S., B.S., M.A., C.V.T.

Stacy joined the Valley Animal Hospital staff in January of 2006. She is a born and raised Southern Belle from Memphis, TN, who moved to Arizona in 1997 and attended the University of Arizona. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Pre-Vet) and is about to complete her Master of Science in Agriculture (Animal Science). Stacy hopes to one day be a veterinarian. Stacy presently has her three dogs, Bear, Aurora, and Gizmo who keep her young and sane. Outside of work, Stacy enjoys four-wheeling in her Jeep, hiking, shooting, swimming, anything outdoors and any new experiences that come her way. Stacy is known to be a kind and caring person and she attributes that to her wonderful friends and family.

Tammy has been with Valley Animal Hospital since January 2006. Tammy graduated from Pima Community College's Veterinary Technology program and is a certified veterinary technician. Animals have always been Tammy's passion and she feels very lucky to be working with the animals she loves. Tammy shares her home with two basset hounds and two geriatric cats.

After 25 years as a secretary, Mary returned to school and earned an Associates of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology. She joined Valley Animal Hospital in March, 2006 and became a certified veterinary technician in August 2006. She enjoys bowling, reading, and spending time with her teenage son, three cats and one dog.
Andrea S., C.V.T., A.A.S.
Andrea has had the pleasure of working at Valley Animal Hospital since March 2007. She graduated from Pima Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in May 2008 and became a certified veterinary technician in August 2008. Andrea has enjoyed working with our interns and is currently working with Dr. Vagnetti. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys playing sports and spending time with her animals.
Kyla B., C.V.T
Kyla joined the Valley Animal Hospital general practice team in July of 2008. She attended the Pima community College
of Veterinary Technology program and became a certified veterinary technician in 2009. Kyla currently works for
Dr. Moreno and especially enjoys assisting her with all sorts of critters as well as abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms. Kyla enjoys playing with her dog and riding her horse during her free time.
Sam S., Veterinary Assistant
Samantha is a Tucson native and joined Valley Animal Hospital in October 2008. She graduated from Pima Medical Institute as a Veterinary assistant in 2005. She enjoys the opportunity to work with the wide diversity of animals seen at Valley, along with the knowledgeable doctors and staff that care for them. She has one dog,"Zoe", a cat,"Ah", and a rabbit, "Skidmark". Outside of Valley, Samantha has a 4 year old daughter named Paige, who enjoys the outdoors, reading and playing with her mother and pets!

Christina, a native Tucsonan, joined the Valley team in August 2009. She graduated with honors from the Pima Community College Veterinary Technology program in May 2010 and became certified shortly after. She has always had a passion for animals and feels very lucky to be in a field where she is able to help the healthy stay healthy, and help the ill get well. She loves learning new and better ways to care for animals. In her free time she takes pictures of lightning, enjoys scrap booking, hiking, and spends her extra time with her boyfriend, family, friends, and her two dogs and cat.

Courtney Williams graduated from Pima Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science in May 2009. She became a Certified Veterinary Technician in June of 2009. She worked two externships at Valley Animal Hospital, and soon after became a full-time employee. She mostly enjoys working with dogs, cats and small rodents. She was just recently married to her husband, Clinton and they live at home with their dog, Julia and cat, Frodo. They enjoy going to movies and hanging out with friends.

Rachael has been with Valley Animal Hospital since July 2005. Rachael graduated from Pima Community
College's Veterinary Technology program. She is a certified veterinary technician. She has also taken on the added responsibility of managing the ER staff. Rachael and her husband have two daughters with one on the way! They also have four dogs, four cats, and a bird. Rachael is very passionate about animals and hopes one day to return to school to become a veterinarian.
Emergency Technicians and Assistants
Kristin A., Veterinary Assistant
Kristin joined the Valley family in November of 2007 working with the Emergency department, as well as caring for
the hospitalized patients as the ICU Nurse. She has special interest in emergency medicine, pet behavior, and client education. Kristen is head of the Client Education department and part of Valley Animal Hospital's Marketing Team and enjoys experiencing new roles in the Valley environment, such as working at the Pet Resort and assisting clients at the front desk of the hospital. On a personal note, Kristin is married, has two dogs, a rabbit, and is a third generation Tucsonan.
Sam T., Veterinary Assistant
Sam is an army brat that has lived all over the United States, as well as Germany. She joined the Valley family in September 2009. She graduated in May 2011 from Pima Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science. Sam has been a vet assistant since 2008 and is one test away from becoming a C.V.T.. She lives with her three cats, a hairless rat, and her "special" dog, "Olive". She loves the fast-paced excitement of Emergency medicine and has a soft spot for rats.

Molly grew up in Tucson, though she was born in Nebraska. She joined the Valley Animal Hospital team in September 2009. She has a varied background in Veterinary Medicine. She has worked with everything from shelter medicine (HSSA), general care practice, Emergency animal Rescue Services (EARS), to Specialty and Emergency medicine in the past 10 years. She is new to the Emergency/Urgent Care team and brings new ideas and experience. Molly likes playing volleyball, riding horses, and mountain biking, but mostly spends her free time with her husband, 2 kids, 3 dogs, and 3 cats.

Brian, a native of Phoenix, joined the Valley family in March 2011. He is attending the University of Arizona with a major in Veterinary Science and minor in chemistry. His career objective is to become a veterinarian. He will be applying to veterinary schools in the fall of 2012. Brian enjoys learning new and better ways to care for animals, as well as exploring the various specialties of veterinary medicine. He has a special love for Boxers and has two of his own; Cosmo and Copper.

Christina was born in Nogales, Arizona and was raised in Patagonia, Arizona. She moved to Tucson 7 years ago to
attend college. Christina joined Valley in May 2006. She has now taken on the added challenge of managing the front office. She enjoys spending time with her son and two kitties.

Sara has been part of the Valley Family since March 2007. Sara moved to Tucson with her husband, Wes, and their two dogs, Ranger and Dresden in July 2006. She is originally from Albany where she was born and raised. Sara enjoys spending her free time with her husband and dogs. She also enjoys running, reading, interior design and being in the Arizona sun.

Erin joined the Valley Animal Hospital team in October 2011. She began working in the veterinary field in 2003 to pursue her lifelong passion to work with animals. Erin grew up in East Texas and has had the privilege to work with small and large breed animals throughout childhood. Erin began volunteering as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to vet assisting through the tutelage of a close friend and veterinarian in Tennessee. She enjoys vet assisting but also has a passion for Client Services and working directly with owners in the Customer Service Representative position. In addition to Erin's interest working with clients, she also has a vested interest in pet nutrition. Erin has been certified as a Science Diet Nutritional Advocate for 3 years and recognizes the importance of quality nutrition to promote better health and life longevity for the companion animal. In her spare time she enjoys caring for and spending time with her 2 cats, "Keiser Sosa", Vincent Price", and her guinea pig, "Myra". Erin also enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband restoring classic cars.

Anna, originally from Kansas, has worked at Valley for since 1986. She has been in many roles at Valley, and currently enjoys supervising the business office team. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading and swimming.
Jason M., Administrative Assistant
Jason Miller is a native Tucsonan and has been with Valley Animal Hospital since 1994. Jason was the front office manager
for many years but has recently felt that his skills were better utilized with the Business Office Team. He has three children and is raising his brother. Jason enjoys hiking, camping and exploring. Prior to Jason working as the front office manager, he was a veterinary assistant for 6 years. Jason hopes to someday do reptile rehabilitation in New Zealand.
I.T./Marketing Coordinator
Alpha V., C.V.T.
Alpha joined our hospital in October 1997 as a full time veterinary assistant. She became a certified veterinary technician in 1998. She worked closely with Dr. Warfield as his surgical technician. Alpha has more than 17 years of experience, in both technical and administrative positions. In February 2003, she also took on the added responsibility of administrator of our Valley Pet Resort. In December of 2006, Alpha retired as a veterinary technician and took on the roll of Software Coordinator for the hospital; in addition to her position of administrator at Valley Pet Resort. In June 2008, Alpha resigned her position as administrator of Valley Pet Resort to concentrate solely on the task of Software/IT/Coordinator for the hospital. She has recently taken on the added responsibility of all Valley's Marketing needs. Alpha spends her free time camping, diving and skiing with her husband John and their two dogs; Mortimer and Hano.

Jessica was born in New York and moved to Tucson after graduating from high school. She has been working in the veterinary field since she was 14 years old. She became a certified veterinary technician in 2006. In 2011 Jessica took on the responsibilities of managing Valley's inventory. Jessica is sports oriented and spends her free time outdoors or with her pets.
